Taking your online proctored VTest exam
Make sure you have the following:
- Official ID (passport, driver’s license, national ID card).
- Access to a quiet space with no one else present.
- Between 15-120 minutes, depending on the test and your level.
- A high-quality and reliable internet connection or 4G cellular connection if using a smartphone.
- A device with a front-facing camera (tablet, smartphone or computer with a microphone and speakers).
Make sure you know the VTest requirements:
- Stay within the camera’s field of vision.
- Do not exit full-screen mode, record, copy, paste or open another application during the exam.
- Do not use any external support.
- No one else should be in the room with you while you are taking the exam.
- Only speak when required.
- Your camera and microphone must be on at all times.
If you don’t adhere to these requirements, your exam results may not be certified.
Understanding VTest Scores
- Scores are reported on a 10-level CEFR scale from A1 to C2 and sub-scores by academic and in-practice skills.
- General CEFR level is a combination of the different skills of the test.
- Results and certificates are provided within a few minutes after completion of the test or within 48 hours if a human review is required.
VTest provides you with a variety of sub-scores
Depending on your version, they may include :
- Academic skills : Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Grammar.
- In practice skills : Conversation, Comprehension, Expression and Literacy.
- Specific subskills for Speaking: reading fluency, listen and repeat, task proficiency.
- Specific skills for Writing: Lexical, Grammar, cohesion, task.
- CEFR descriptors.
